FHIR Approach to Allocating Identifier/Coding Canonical FHIR URIs
FHIR Approach to Allocating Identifier/Coding Canonical FHIR URIs
- Australian assigners of identifiers/terminology owners MAY provide a nominated URI to reference that system.
- A nominated system URI MUST be maintained into the future as a known reference for the system.
- A nominated system URI MUST be used where the coding/identifier is used in FHIR specifications developed by HL7 AU working groups.
- It is desirable a URL is used as the reference so it may be resolved via browser to informative content about the system (no content requirements are defined).
- HL7 AU working groups MAY nominate a hl7.org.au based domain URL to reference a system and inform the assigner of identifier/terminology owner in preference to assigner/owner domain.
